I am not kidding when I say that I did not pose a single one of these shots. This is just how they are together – so much love! She is like her momma in so many ways…

As I said with my last set of pictures of Anna, each dancer has something that seems to set her apart. With Audrey, it is her flexibility and joy. You see her love of dance each time she folds herself in half (as if it were nothing!) This little one dances almost every day, and her momma is a dancer too. (My next post will be the mother/daughter dance shots we took, which are SO unspeakably adorable.) I love these shots – some of my favorite of the year.

As I have started studying young dancers, I can see how each young athlete displays such different strengths. In her dancing, and her everyday life, Anna exudes a sense of inner grace. She has poise, and form, but above all power. On point at only 11 years old, her dancing shows her early training both on horseback and as a gymnast. So strong, so lovely.
Our neighbors have some trees that need thinning. It’s not an official tree lot, where are the trees are the same size, perfectly shaped. It’s just a few private acres of evergreens; some tiny and some towering. Yesterday was clear, and not bitterly cold – so we ran over and got our Christmas tree. Good to take a morning off. Good to run and laugh with my kiddos. Good to take a few photos of my loves. 
I won’t pull off a Christmas card. The studio has never been busier, and of course I see the irony. Like a plumber with a leaky faucet, I will photograph dozens of families for their holiday cards and fail to mail one myself. But thank you to all my clients, friends, and family that faithfully send us tidings of joy! We love getting them, and hope that this will pass for holiday greetings and an updated peek at how big our kids are getting.
And the tree lot is available for your family as well! If you still need a tree, and would like to make some memories, you can cut your own – the cost of the tree is included in a farm photography session.
