Ann Arbor Farm Studio – Littlest ballerina

The spirit of this remarkable child!  She has the best wind up for her spin – and even better – look for the moment she realizes that she can make her shadow dance….

Ann Arbor Farm – Rainy Day Maternity Session

So delightful to meet this family – they could not have been more laid-back or cheery despite the rainy day!  Here are a few of my favorites from their large gallery of images – all images shot at the Ann Arbor Farm Studio – we used the farmhouse for the inside shots.  I’m already planning for their farm newborn shoot – dreaming/planning/pushing myself for some creative images of their baby boy.

Fairy Hunt Photo Sessions – Ann Arbor

AmyKimballPhotography_0202

Our flowering woods are currently enchanted with fairies, sprites and their tiny dwellings!   Join us at our 70 acre Ann Arbor Farm Studio for 30 minute fairy hunt sessions, designed to delight 2-6 year olds!   Wings and tutus are the standard dress for meeting fairies!

Cost: $350

What will I receive?  An online viewing gallery of all your session images.  You may choose 10 of the images for editing and full sized digital download, with the right to print.  Your child will collect a basket of fairies to take home!  Families occasionally ask to purchase the entire gallery, which is possible for an additional $250.

Date and time: Contact us to schedule a time in May or early June

My new niece!

So excited to welcome Adelaide!  Her big sibs could not be sweeter with her (or sweeter in general…)  She brings the cousin count up to 11!  Much joy.

Slow living

Remember what it felt like to have nothing to do for an entire day except make a dandelion chain?   One of the best things about the farm is slow living. Kids are experts at it, and I’m trying to learn it.  They teach me to eat lunch in a dandelion field, to spend a long Sunday afternoon in the hammock, to walk in the flowering woods at dusk, or to swim with the ducklings in the pond.  My kids are growing up so fast.   My baby is 7, and not even for that much longer.  I am determined to slow down and not miss real life.

Chicks and Ducks

Kids and baby animals – I love the real expressions, the wonder, and the joy.   Over the top cuteness!  These sessions could not have gone better, and were so much fun to shoot.  Last Saturday, I brought the farm babies up to the studio for mini sessions.  My kids are hand-raising these 8 ducklings and 6 chicks to join the flock at the farm.  If you come out to the farm this summer you will see the four Indian Runner ducks patrolling the garden, and the four Pekin ducks at their floating duck house on the pond.   But they will never be this little again!  They have almost doubled in size since last week!  I just may have to do this every year.  We may be overrun with ducks eventually, but it seems worth it.  :)
