After spending day after day photographing everyone’s else sweet babies, I needed a day to photograph mine. We are renovating a farmhouse on 70 acres, and we got another room done yesterday – yahoo! (and God bless Kenny Ingle and Ryan Campbell for all their help!) This room is in the 1880’s section of our house, and we decided to leave it fairly rustic to be true to itself. The floors are wide plank pine which we weathered grey using steel wool and vinegar. We found rough plaster under 5 layers of wallpaper and so we put a finish coat of plaster up, lime washed it, and left it just like that. The worn out lead-paint trim all was removed, and was replaced with boards from our barn.
I’ve been wanting to do ballet photos of my sweet six year old
She adores dancing, loves to be active – she would fly if she could. And she’s growing up – she seems so old in these photos that it hurts my heart to look them. She made herself a paper crown, borrowed her big sister’s tutu, and before the room filled up with furniture, we made it a ballet studio for a day.
Is it ok to say that the black and white ones are my favorite??
