Early morning frost sessions! If you are willing to get up (or if your kids wake you at 5am regardless!) book just after sunrise! We have had a number of families over the past few weeks book these sessions and their images are so lovely. Nature does it way better than I could ever set it up. 🤍#annarborphotographers #annarbor #michiganphotographer #chasinglight #farmlife #liveoutside ...

Sharing personal info on social media is not my way, I’d rather talk to you face to face. But this significantly impacts our life, farm and business, so (with Gabe’s permission) we are sharing. When our oldest son, Gabe (in the maroon shirt) was 15 he was diagnosed with an autoimmune liver disease.  Because of the severity of damage to his liver, we knew that a transplant was likely going to be in his future, but we thought that point was quite a bit further down the road.  His team of doctors agree that a transplant as soon as possible is the best course of action for his long term health. Being on the transplant list means that his surgery may happen in a week or 6 months... it will be whenever the right liver becomes available.
Here’s a little window into Gabe: he is possibly the most relentlessly optimistic person you will ever meet.   He is an incredibly smart guy,  (his doctors love him and regularly ask if he would like to pursue a career in medicine when he is well!) and his laughter, joy and adventurous spirit inspire us continually.   He led his campus’s TEDX conference, built out a van that he lived in one summer, and spends time regularly serving others that have need in the community.   As his disease has progressed, many of his ideas and adventures have been put on hold. We can’t wait for his life to return to all the beautiful things that bring him joy.
As parents, we are filled with both hope and tremendous concern at yet another unknown chapter of Gabe’s diagnosis and treatment. There’s no question that the past 10 years have been hard, but we hold every hope that this is a turning point for better days ahead.
If you are a photography client, we are sending an email with additional info on how this will impact sessions. We have a great team, and such loving clients we are not worried. Thanks for walking this out with us.  So many of you have already expressed tremendous love, support and prayers.
