Childhood in black and white

“Photographers deal in things which are continually vanishing and when they have vanished there is no contrivance on earth which can make them come back again.” – Henri Cartier-Bresson   When I read this I feel the days flying past, the little souls around me changing as if in a time-lapse fast forward film.

Today is the day to photograph your baby napping, your toddler giggling.  You do not have to be a professional – take your camera out, and capture the everyday.  They do not slow down for us, and we are hard pressed to hold on to the details of this precious life.

This dear child is only 2, but I loved meeting her family and observing her clear, strong spirit at a farm session.   I processed these in black in and white, as they felt so timeless to me.  Many more lovely color images of her – but these were resounding with me today.
