I had the honor of being the photographer for Melanie and Suneil’s beautiful 2 day wedding. I wanted to post a few shots here to give you a sneak peak of the beautiful Sangeet evening their families planned for them. If you’ve never been to a Sangeet, it’s a celebration where the bride and groom’s mothers and fathers, aunts and uncles, and even grandparents sing to them and dance for them, a tradition carried on for generations. (Originally with only the women, and now men are included.) The evening was touching, and I cannot believe how many hours of preparation must have gone into the night. There are hundreds of additional portraits of their family and friends that flew in from across the world to celebrate with them, but hopefully this gives you a flavor of the night. Watch this week for more posts of the second day of the wedding!
(Tis the season for weddings, I’ve had 4 in the past 9 days, in addition to all my baby and family sessions! Please know, brides, that I’m editing and blogging as fast as I can!)
